I ran across this post speculating about the end of SEO, courtesy of Google. This article is written with the premise that SEO consists of simply paying for links to your site. Once again, it is evidence of clinging to the outdated belief that the way to get to the search engines is to focus on link building and PageRank.
This isn’t the end of SEO, but simply people finally catching on to what I’ve been saying for up to three years now - link buying, link building, linking strategies no longer work with Google. They caught on to this trick many years ago, and most SEO companies are just now figuring this out. The reason this is is because they make significant revenue by selling their clients on Link Building.
So this isn’t the end of SEO. Far from it. It’s simply a call to focus on one’s own site, creating great content, and optimizing your own site for search. Let’s quit worrying about PageRank and Link Building and focus on the task at hand — SEO.

To say that Search Engine Optimization is an industry in constant flux would be an understatement. Since we provide bi-weekly search performance reports for our clients, we continually monitor thousands of keywords across hundreds of sites. The one thing that is consistant is that search results changes. The main goal for us is to be sure those changes trend upward instead of downward.
I’ve always been curious just how often Google makes changes to their algorithm, and now I know, thanks to this article - Google Tweaked Search 450 Times in 2007.

In Google’s continuing quest to organize the World’s information, they have now added WhoIs lookup. Looking up WhoIs information reveal “who is” the owner of a domain name. This is especially good news given the recent front-running of Network Solutions (in a nutshell - if you look to see if a domain name is available on Network Solutions, they quickly register it so that you have to buy the domain from them at a ridiculously high price).
Simply type “whois” in the search field in Google, followed by a space, then the domain name in question. So for example, “whois Google.com”.
Kuddos to SearchEngineLand for alerting me to the Whois feature now in Google.

The term “Organic SEO” or “Organic Search Engine Optimization” refers to optimizing the code of a website to attain higher organic search rankings on search engines. Search engines display two types of rankings:
Paid search results are known as Pay-Per-Click ads, which appear as “Sponsored Ads” or “Sponsored Listings” in the search results page.
Organic search results are considered more reliable because they have attained their high rankings based on merit, rather than simply placing a high keyword bid. SEO Page 1 specializes in attaining high organic search rankings for our clients.
